We are putting the finishing touches on our new home program. For those of you who have partnered with us in the past, you may have been aware of one of our biggest shortcomings; "follow-up & long-term" ministry with the families receiving the houses.
EOC / Campo de Suenos has been building more than 80 homes a year for many years now; that is a lot of families to follow up with. And quite frankly, we have not done an effective job of this in past years.
Here is a brief look at what we have put together for this coming season; 2007 -
Local pastors/ churches will directly participate in the selection, preparation & follow-up of YUGO's homes for the Poor program.
Our hope is that this aspect of the ministry will become, in the eyes of the local community, an outreach of the local church. Whereby as a co-laboring ministry, we will be in a supporting role (resources & labor/ teams) with the local church becoming the front-line ministry.
This is a significant shift in how we are doing outreach, although one that is greatly needed.
Our mission is to be actively participating in missions, while supporting the local church. Thereby strengthening the local body of Christ.
I look forward to sharing more details regarding the vision of this ministry in the coming weeks.

Homes for the Poor - 2007
How did you spend your Thanksgiving?
We enjoyed hosting a Thanksgiving feast @ EOC for friends from three nations; Canada, USA & Mexico.
After our feast; Ana, Gagan (volunteer intern), Kayliegh (volunteer intern) & Diana, drove to a local church to assist other local youth in preparing burritos & coffee; to distribute to local families waiting at a local hospital emergency room.
They were also joined by Daniel & Angela (YUGO missionary) Camacho.
God Bless you & yours
